The new device from Apple which was launched at a colossal fanfare on Friday shows off an enhanced Retina display screen, an A5X quad-core processor and a 5-megapixel camera. It can also support 4G LTE networks where available.

Apparently, the three million sales came from Apple’s key markets such as the UK and the US, while others will begin selling the new iPad this Friday, nations including Italy, Spain and New Zealand.

Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, Philip Schiller commented, “it was the strongest iPad launch yet.” However, we are not able to see the difference since Apple did not release any sales figures on the iPad 2 launch.

Though Apple may have shipped millions of units but not without some setbacks – many users has already complained that the new iPad is prone to overheating and have been considering a return unless Apple can figure out a quick fix.

On the whole however, the success of two of the most outstanding devices from Apple, the iPad and iPhone products saw the company to proclaim on Monday that it would offer a share dividend to shareholders and starting a share buy-back program that will cost $45bn over the next three years, as it sits on a cash-pile of almost $100bn.
