Apple will announce how it will use its 96.7 billion
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) an American multinational corporation stated that it will announce the outcome of its internal discussion concerning its massive cash balance on Moday.
According to bostonglobe, analaysts expect Apple to introduce a dividend. Since it has over US$97.6 billion in cash and securities at the end of last year, it can easily afford a onetime dividend of US$100 for every shareholder. However, analysts expect that it could be in a form of a recurring dividend.
The company stated that its chief executive Tim Cook and chief financial officer Peter Oppenheimer are to discuss about the decision during a conference call at 9 a.m.
Bostonglobe stated, “A dividend would reward shareholders and open ownership of Apple shares to a wider range of funds. Many “value-oriented’’ funds don’t buy stocks that don’t pay dividends. Analysts say lack of a dividend has held down Apple’s share price.”
