Dozens of dissatisfied owners of the new iPad have complained that the new device from Apple is prone to overheating and many were eager to return the device to Apple just after 72 hours after it went on sale to the first batch of customers all around the world.

According to V3, forumers on an Apple-hosted site wrote that they were very concerned with the issue and even considered to ditch the device. “Mine is overheating.” A user called ‘Rogerfrombowlinggreen’ complained, “The heat is reduced when the brightness is reduced but what’s the point of that? It drains the battery fast too. And exchange doesn’t seem to be a solution since they all appear to have the same defect issue.”
“I am going to wait one week to see if there are any solutions from Apple, if not, they can have it. I am very disappointed. Been an Apple cool aid drinker for the past 12 years. But I may have had my fill,” Rogerfrombowlinggreen added.
There were over 100 other users posting on the forum, with most agreeing that they are having the same problem and are considering returning it unless Apple issues a fix.
Another forumer named ‘NovaSins’ stated, “I’m an avid Apple fan, who usually thinks they do no wrong, [but] I might be going back to an iPad 2 also.’
“The hot heat and long recharge times and inability to use on 100 per cent brightness seem like a deal breaker for me,” NovaSins added.
According to V3 it had contacted Apple to give a response on the issue but didn’t receive any reply at time of publication.
V3 indeed had performed a test on the new iPad over the weekend, awarding it a coveted five star review, and suffered no overheating issues.
The overheating problem on the New iPad is not the first issue faced by Apple, earlier they faced difficulty with the iPhone 4 which was suffering from problems to the antenna when gripped in a certain way, forcing the firm to offer users a free case as a workaround to the issue.
