My Bad Weekend
I can’t believe it. This was my first bad weekend of the year. I went home from work last Friday and while I was on the road, somebody honked and shouted from my rear. I couldn’t understand what was going on. My first impression was that someone else ahead of me could have made a mistake on the lane. I was very confident that it was not meant for me.
Arriving safely home though, I was curious that I might be the one who was at fault. So I checked my car thoroughly. Upon checking the lights, I realised that one of the rear turn signals was not working. I was actually the person that the guy was honking and shouting at after all. This is actually the second incident.
“You are turning without the turn-signal on”
The first incident was that my cheap (but much valued) Sony Ericsson F305 cell phone has gone bananas! It stopped working while I was teaching in class. Actually, I can still receive calls and text messages but there is nothing on the screen, it was completely white! My students gave their opinion that it could be the cable, specifically the flex cable. (For your information, my classic Nokia is my second phone, I use it as a spare phone whenever necessary).
After lunch, I went straight to an auto parts shop and bought a light bulb for the turn signal. Later, I stopped at a cell phone repair shop and inquired about what could have happened to my phone. Sure enough, it was the flex cable. The repair man explained in length about the problem and told me that the hitch is simple to solve but could be expensive. The flex cable itself cost RM75!, but it only took him 30 minutes to get it repaired. After a prolonged negotiation, he finally agreed to charge me RM60 for the cable inclusive of labour charge. I don’t really care about the RM60; at least she (F305) is working again.

Technician: “This phone is an old model, it’s very hard to look for the parts, that is why it’s expensive.”
And the final appalling occurrence was that, when I tried to open my website (gunsirit.com), instead of the normal home page, this is what I got –“Bandwidth Limit Exceeded. The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit. Please try again later.
I emailed my hosting company as regard to this problem and very shortly I got a reply (They were really efficient in servicing their clients). This was the reply :
Hello Sir,
Your account has reached the alloted bandwidth limit on the account and this is the reason the site is showing bandwidth exceed page.

I have raised 50 mb limit at this time. Please upgrade the account to the next plan with higher bandwidth as soon you can.

Well, it will probably cost me a few hundred bucks to upgrade and get it going again. Actually, I am broke at this moment, so this has to wait until the end of the month. On the meantime, thanks to blogger, I still have my old blogspot account. So I will be posting here up until I can get my site working again.
To compensate for my worse day, I decided to visit my tiny nursery at the back of the house. I was amused to watch my rubber seedling (actually small rubber trees) sprouting out some small leaves. They were really amazing and made me forget what I had just gone through the whole day. Here are pictures of my rubber seedlings and of my tortoise pet – Guntapil. i can understand your frustration especially when it comes to the bandwidth thingy…it ever happened to me once. but that time, im still hosting under a friend's account so he helped me sort it out by upgrading my bandwidth (without paying). but i wonder, how can you get your bandwidth exceeded. i dont see you posted any images that's huge enough to exceed your bandwidth usage. or was i wrong about those images?
can just wait for Feb when the bandwidth has been reset back.

Huhuu…ur post reminded me of the incident this morning..on my way to pasar Tuaran..me mau keluar dari simpang to jln besar..so, stop at the junction (as the licensing book says hehe..). One hilux gsve signal to the left..means dia mau masuk tempat simpang ke arah sia..so, obviously..boleh jalanlah kan..tup2..dia jalan lurus pula..adidih..sudahlah my proton kecil saja, mujur inda ber'sentuh' nih. On the way tu sia asik terfikir2..sia inda puas hati napa dia pasang signal mau menyimpang tp jalan lurus pula???
Eh..ni crita psl ko ka psl sia ni? hehe

@Chegu carol: I don't really know about bandwidth exceeded but Donny at donnyien.com advised to upgrade to a bigger plan. When I searched into the internet i got this answer:Bandwidth allowance/limit is the amount of data transfer you are given on a plan/package by your host.
The notice means that the bandwidth allowance that your host gives to you on your current plan, has all been used up this month. If you have recently received a lot of traffic, this may happen.
You should consider moving to a bigger package with more bandwidth allowance if you expect to receive a similar number of hits/downloads or transfer next month as you did this month. By upgrading to a bigger plan, you will probably not see this notice again as you will be within a much larger allowance and shouldn't exceed it.
