Samsung Galaxy S3 will run on Nvidia Tegra 3 instead of Exynos 4412
Samsung Galaxy S3 will run on Nvidia Tegra 3 instead of Exynos 4412
Most of us have been speculating that Samsung’s latest addition to the Galaxy flagship of smartphones – the Galaxy S3 will run Samsung’s own Exynos 4412, a chip debuted earlier this month and come with four Cortex-A9 cores.
According to Itproportal tech website, a reliable source from inside Samsung itself has shed light on the internal working of the S 3 which support the notion that it will instead adopt Nvidia’s Tegra 3 chipset.
However, we would be surprised if Samsung suddenly decides to change the chip at the last minute as this has happened earlier with the Galaxy S 2, which was originally rumored to run Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset.
Itproportal states, “Our anonymous source told us that, contrary to what outsiders would believe, Samsung businesses do not necessarily have an advantage when vying for business, which promotes competition and helps improve margins.”
This is perhaps why Samsung Mobile decided to harness parts from Nvidia Tegra 2 as well as the Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 to power some of Galaxy S2’s variants.
It is evident that the current range of Samsung smartphones, which surprisingly contained non-Samsung parts.
For example, Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus uses a Texas Instrument OMAP4430 chip, The Galaxy Note uses a dual-core Qualcomm chip, while both Galaxy Z and Galaxy R use Nvidia Tegra 2 as compared with Samsung Galaxy S Advance which use ST Ericsson parts.
I won’t be surprised if the Samsung Galaxy S3 will come out with non-Samsung chip at launch.
