According to a tech web site, Digitimes, all market attentions have been focused on the launch of Apple’s latest iPad and on the possible price drop of the iPad 2 hence creating a severe market pressure to smaller tablet PC players such as Asustek Computer’s PadFone and the 7-inch Eee Pad MeMO as well as Samsung’s popular Galaxy Note 10.1.

The website also noted that a higher proportion of the tablet PC market which is dominated by iPad 2 and possibly the forthcoming new iPad while the 7-inch tablets may be fiercely competed by Amazon’s Kindle Fire and the forthcoming Google’s sub $200 7-inch Android 4.0 tablet PC as well as the sub $150 tablet PC market which is controlled by China’s White-box retailers so known players in the tablet PC market such as Samsung, Asustek, Acer, Toshiba, Sony and Motorola are finding their market place melting gradually.

According to sources cited by Digitimes, Apple was also reported to release a newer version of the iPad sometime in October to counter the Windows 8-based tablet PCs and to make matter even worse, Microsoft’s refusal to lower its license fees may cause tablet PC retailers unable to stand their grounds in the tablet PC market.
