First generation Ultrabooks will cost 25 percent less
With the coming of new generation super thin laptops or Ultrabooks which some claim to be powered by Intel’s newest Ivy Bridge processors, some companies such as Acer, Lenovo and HP were reportedly are reducing the price tags of their older model Ultrabooks up to 25 per cent. This could be very good news to customers aiming at lower ultrabooks price.
Based on a report by DigiTimes, prices for the first-generation Ultrabooks will significantly drop in the coming second quarter of 2012. It claims a price drop from the current $1000+ (RM3003+) to a mere $600 to $799 (RM1802 – RM2399).
Currently we saw some clearance sales to older Ultrabooks such as Acer S3, Lenovo U300s, and HP Folio 13 possibly to make way for the latest waves of Ultrabooks, such as the HP Envy 14 Spectre.
The new generation Ultrabooks will undoubtedly cost more, for instance, HP’s Envy 14 Spectre, stunningly designed with glass and an imposing display of 1600 X 900 pixels, will be sold for about $1400 (RM4204).
The new wave of Ultrabooks will off course sports the latest processor from Intel, dubbed as the Ivy Bridge processors which has been reported to provide better graphics performance and battery life.
If you have extra money to spare and wish to have all these new features, then you might want to buy the latest generation Ultrabook, but if you happen to aim at saving a few bucks, then go for the discounted first-generation Ultrabooks.
