Sony unleashes Sony Xperia GX Hayabusa in Japan
There were several rumours cropping out from the internet regarding a new smartphone from Sony dubbed as the Sony LT29i Hayabusa.
The Hayabusa smartphone which is actually the Sony Xperia GX is designed for the Japanese market. It is the first LTE-capable smartphone to be introduced in Japan. Users of the new GX are to expect a download speed up to 75mbps.
Design wise, many speculated that it resembles the HTC One X-style that has a solid rear casing, others said that it is similar to Xperia S but with some improvements. The screen is larger at 4.6-inch (as compared with the Xperia S’s 4.3-inch) High Definition resolution powered by BRAVIA technology and able to record video at full 720p HD quality. The power behind it is a fast dual-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and coupled with a 16GB internal flash memory. It runs on the latest Android operating system – Android 4.0 Ice Cream sandwich.
Together with the new smartphone, Sony is also reported to be releasing new apps which will be pre-installed in the device. The WALKMAN application is perhaps the highlight among all with its high quality audio technologies and the ALBUM app which feature a new way of organising and accessing high quality photos and videos at a faster speed.
Social networking also has not been forgotten, for example, the Facebook app let users to view, comment and share photos while the MOVIES app enables users to access high quality audio and video playback as well as a new database for accessing more information about your favourite videos and movies.
Sadly, there has not been any confirmation from Sony about shipping the device for the overseas markets.
