The new BlackBerry 10 or BlackBerry London will feature a full touch screen

If you recall a few months back, the BlackBerry brand has been the top selling brand among Malaysian users who sees the device as classy, sophisticated and durable smart phone. However, recently with the introduction of Apple’s iPhone 4S and Samsung’s Galaxy series has dramatically pushes the brand on the sideline. Everywhere you go, it was either Samsung or iPhone is being talked about.

Research in Motion, the company behind the BlackBerry brand is reported to be working on a series of devices to be unveiled at the latter half of this year and perhaps another one at the end of the year. One of RIM’s highlights is the BlackBerry 10, which is hoped to be able to compete with the popular Apple and Samsung devices.
The BlackBerry 10, code-named the BlackBerry London is said to drop the QWERTY keyboard (a feature synonymous to BlackBerry) and to embrace instead a full touch screen interface, it will also be powered by QNX or BBX OS. According to a report from Boy Genius Report Blog, RIM is also expected to unveil two BlackBerry Curve smart phones, the BlackBerry Curve 9230 an EDGE based device and BlackBerry Curve 9320, a HSPA phone. These phones will be featuring either a full touch screen or a QWERTY keyboard.

Apart from the smart phones, RIM is also said to be introducing a new Playbook model with a faster processor of 1.5GHz and equipped with built-in HSPA+ (High Speed Packet Access) and a network data access speed of 42Mbps.

Well, BlackBerry is a sleek and durable, robust design and if it is equipped with a full touch screen interface similar to its competitor, I would think that it will be able to make a quick come back. It certainly will give Apple and Samsung a tough competition, we will have to wait and see.
