Users of select Apple products can now download iOS 5.1
Apple has made an announcement that its latest version of the iDevice operating system has been released and now available for download for users with devices running the existing version 5 platform.
The iOS 5.1 has been on three-week internal testing as well as test qualification made by carriers and finally it has gone gold and ready to ship.
The new mobile operating system from Apple was reported to provide a faster accessibility to camera functions as well as catering to some battery bug fixes and an overall improvement over its supported products and accessories.
Devices that are supported by the new enhanced operating system are: the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad, iPad 2, iPod 3rd and 4th Generation Touch Devices.
The updated operating system, iOS 5.1 will come with the new iPad, which has been detailed as the iPad 3 or iPad HD and not merely the ‘new iPad’.
According to itproportal, The iOS 5.1 new features include:
- Japanese language support for Siri
- A user can now delete photos from Photo Stream
- Camera face detection can highlight all detected faces
A redesigned and enhanced camera app for the iPad also features:
- Genius mixes and playlist access for iTunes Match subcribers.
- Audio TV shows and movies optimized for the iPad
- Clearer and louder sound
