2012 Computex Taipei will showcase Ivy Bridge Ultrabooks
According to Digitimes, PC retailers are expected to showcase their ultrabooks packed with Intel’s latest chip, the Ivy Bridge processors on June 5-9 at 2012 Computex Taipei, Taiwan.

It is estimated that the Computex Show will host about 1,800 exhibitors with 5,400 booths and expected to be able to attract about 36,000 buyers as well as over 145,000 visitors.
Earlier Intel announced that it will be releasing its high-end Ivy Bridge-based processors by the end of April and at the same time PC vendors will also be unveiling their Ivy Bridge-based ultrabooks. The major product lines that will be launched in June which will coincide with 2012 Computex are models featuring the Ivy Bridge Core i5 processors.
Among the major IT players that will be present at 2012 Computex are Intel, Acer and Asustek Computer. It was reported that each of them would be renting about 50 booth-spaces and will be holding a major exhibition to promote their products.
Microsoft is also reported to be present at the show and will be cooperating with partners to highlight products that are running Windows 8 and perhaps will give details about WoA (Windows on ARM) as well.
2012 Computex is said to focus on four major themes – ultrabooks, smart handheld devices, e-book readers and cloud computing services.
What is actually the Ivy Bridge processor? According to Wikipedia, the Ivy Bridge is essentially a codename for Intel‘s 22 nm die shrink of the Sandy Bridge micro architecture based on tri-gate (“3D”) transistors. (More information)
Intel started volume production of the Ivy Bridge processors in the third quarter of 2011 and according to sources cited by Wikipedia, Intel will launch the Ivy Bridge chips on 29th April 2012.
